Figure Drawing Practice

When did you last draw?

In highschool.

Were you any good?

Only good at copying people's faces in pencil.

Why faces?

I am meticulous.
I have an attention to detail.

Why did you pick drawing up again?

I have story boards I want to flesh out.

What sort of stories?

A high fantasy medieval romance story.
A Military-Sci-fi with my take on a realistic mecha design.
A psychological romance harem set on a remote space ship.

Has it been fun?

No, but the practice is cathartic, leaving a small solemn sense of accomplishment as I progress.
I pick it up when feeling burnout on programming.

Will you become any good?

I am on the precipice of thinking it is possible.
I have 235 pages to go through. I plan on copying half of the sketches.
By the end of that, I hope to consider myself an intermediate.

Why are you using this method?

Browsed a /beg/ & /int/ general on /ic/
I submitted a drawing I did off of my imagination, asking for feedback.
Someone recomended this book, and to do half the drawings to improve my form.
I am taking their advice.

first sketch no practice.webp — This was my first sketch, with no guide, just spitballing. While I thought it was good for no practice, the people at /ic/ disagreed. There is nothing good about it, and the criticism was difficult to take but ultimaly something I just accept. After I finish the sketchbook, I will give this another shot.
